May 2, 2003
Regular visitors to Fleeting Light should recognize many
changes in the website since April 2003. A totally new look was unveiled
in mid-April. The new look not only makes navigation easier, it will also
make it easier to update including adding new images and new portfolios.
Starting
with this new version of Fleeting Light, my
work is organized in the following portfolios:
|
Autumn
|
This
portfolio contains my color photographs that capture the vibrant colors
of the fall season.
|
|
Yosemite
and the Sierra
|
Of
course, Yosemite is one of my favorite places.
No matter how often you go to Yosemite there is always something
new to see or photograph. Each
season brings new aspects of this natural wonder to light.
|
|
Leaves
of Grass
|
All
of the photographs in this portfolio are new to Fleeting Light.
I tried to reveal the often overlooked beauty that can be found in the
the grass.
|
|
Flowers
|
Flowers
continue to be rich source of material for my photography endeavors.
|
|
Natural
Scene
|
These
photographs depict some wonderful natural spaces that I have
photographed including the Grand Canyon and Monument Valley.
|
|
Caught
Shadows
|
This
portfolio contains some of my black and white work.
Most of which is new to Fleeting Light.
|
|
Kaleidoscopes
|
With
one exception, all of these photographs are new to Fleeting Light.
I used photographs of trees, waterfalls, clouds, leaves, flowers,
etc. as the raw material to create these kaleidoscopes.
|
|
Other
Impressions
|
OK,
I admit it… these are photographs I wanted to include but they did not
fit into any of the other categories.
|
While
some of the portfolios are totally new, each one contains at least several new
works never seen before on the Internet. Please
be sure to view all of the portfolios.
The
Photographer Links
section contains links to several photographers
that are friends or acquaintances who produce work that I admire and respect.
Please take some time to view their work.
The
Photography Resources page contains links to galleries, workshops,
publications, museums, and other organizations that support and promote fine art
photography.
You
can use the website to provide feedback either in the Guest Book or
directly to me by e-mail. Your
comments, suggestions, and ideas are always welcome.
So, please feel free to use the Guest Book or
e-mail links to
send your feedback.
In the Works...
We will continue to add new images, new portfolios, links to fine-art
photographers, and new photography resource links, Several ideas for new
features are being considered, including:
| Essays and Writings |
Essays and poetry related to fine-art photography would be
featured here. An invitation to writers and poets to share their
work with the Fleeting Light audience will be extended. |
| Discussion Groups |
A number of discussion groups will be added allowing the
Fleeting Light audience to share ideas with others. Suggestions on
discussion topics are always appreciated. |
| Portfolio Notes |
A set of notes for each portfolio is under
development. The notes will discuss various images including
information about how the image was made. |
| FAQ |
Frequently Asked Questions will be collected and answered to
the benefits of later visitors. |
I hope that you enjoy Fleeting Light. If you have any questions, please
